Fencing and Paving Contract

Descriptions

Following the successful outcome of a tenant ballot, Gwynedd Council transferred approximately 6,300 units of its housing stock to Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd Cyf (CCG), a newly formed Registered Provider of social housing in April 2010.CCG is now seeking expressions of interest from experienced and qualified Service Providers to carry out a 4 year replacement fencing and paving programme including but not limited to, removal and renewal of palisade fencing, post and panel fencing, steel and timber gates, concrete paths, paving slabs and associated works (including where necessary removal of asbestos and associated building works). It is envisaged that between 1 to 3 Service Providers will be selected to deliver the works with an approximate aggregate value of GBP3 million excluding key building materials i.e. timber panels. Each successful Service Provider will be required to enter into separate contractual arrangements with CCG in the form of a partnering arrangement based upon the ACA Standard Form of Contract for Term Partnering 2005 (amended 2008) as amended pursuant to the invitation to tender documentation. CCG reserves the right not to award any contract or to award any individual works pursuant to a contract. Service Providers should therefore note that submission to CCG of a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire and any subsequent tender submission does not guarantee any level/amount of work from CCG. Without prejudice to non-guarantee of any level of work/amount of work, CCG also reserve the right in its unfettered discretion to apportion the required works between the successful Service Provider(s) as it see fit.Additional Information:CCG's housing stock is mainly concentrated in the settlement towns of Bangor, Caernarfon, Pwllheli, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Dolgellau, Bala and Tywyn in the county of Gwynedd, North Wales. Service Providers should be aware that Gwynedd is a mountainous region covering an area of around 2,548 sq Kilometres with 67% of its area located within the Snowdonia National Park. Properties are spread out across a wide area of the County located in towns, villages and sometimes isolated rural locations. Service Providers will need to be able to overcome the obvious logistical challenges involved in delivering the works to all these areas. Only Service Providers with proven experience of having successfully completed similar contracts on other large scale social housing projects need apply. The works being advertised by CCG pursuant to this notice form part of a wider programme of refurbishment works to meet the Welsh Housing Quality Standard as more particularly set out within the "Briefing Paper" which is available for download via the "Notice Resources" link below.
