Descriptions

Defra procuring on behalf of Natural England. To survey a pre-selected sample of statutory sites which contain Priority (NERC Section 41) and/or European Habitats Directive Annex 1 habitats (see Appendix 1 and 2) using the standard Natural England Detailed Integrated Site Assessment (ISA) methodology (see Appendix 5). The contract will include a approximately 30 across 2 areas site units containing approximately 120 habitat surveys to be completed (most units will contain multiple Priority/Annex 1 habitat types). Sites will mostly be grouped into: • lowland species rich grasslands (30 site units) • marsh and fens (lowland and upland examples) (30 site units) • blanket bog and heathland (10 site units)
