Fire Alarm Systems [Maintenance of]

The successful Contractor will be expected to test and maintain the fire alarm systems for ABM UHB properties in accordance with the following standard:BS 5839-1:2017 Series Fire Detection & Fire Alarm Systems.In the event of new documentation release, the latest standards must be adopted.Where the systems do not meet these current standards, the maintenance contractor must inform the UHB of the deficiencies. It will then be the responsibility of the UHB to arrange upgrades if considered necessary.If the system cannot be maintained due to obsolete parts it will be the Maintenance Contractor’s responsibility to replace with suitable alternative parts to ensure the system remains serviceable and functional.The successful contractor must be able to provide evidence of maintaining a DRAX Management communication system, as the alarms within Princess of Wales Hospital are managed via this system.The successful contractor must be able provide evidence of maintaining Gent Fire Alarm systems (please note there will be an additional site which will be incorporated within this contract in the near future).The successful contractor must be able to demonstrate evidence of managing a previous maintenance programme in a large acute hospital.The successful contractor must send reports to the Health Board no later than 2 weeks following a maintenance visit.For all University Health Board planned upgrades or changes to the systems the Maintenance Contractors will be afforded the opportunity to Tender for these works.Please Note: UKAS, FIA & BAFE accreditation is essential.ABM UHB has numerous types of fire alarm systems installed in a variety of premises, as per asset list. Therefore, the successful maintenance contractor must be able to maintain all of these fire alarm systems.
