Advert for Flintshire Dispersed Refuge ServiceThis service is commissioned by Flintshire County Council Supporting People Team, initially for 1 year with a possible extension for a further year. The provisional start date for the service is 1st May 2014.The service will support individuals, male and female, singles and families, who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse and who have accommodation related support needs. They will have been assessed as ‘not suitable’ for current refuge or floating support or individuals who are currently living in refuge provision whose needs have been assessed as better suited to dispersed accommodation. This may include families with older teenage boys, large families, families or individuals with pets, families/individuals with a range of complex needs, single males fleeing domestic abuse who are unable to access refuge.The project providers will make appropriate arrangements with housing agencies to provide direct access, target hardened, refuge accommodation dispersed across Flintshire. The size of the accommodation will be matched to the service user’s family size.It will provide support to service users across Flintshire irrespective of tenure. A minimum of 6 households will be supported, at any one time, across Flintshire.Referrals will be accepted from statutory, voluntary and charitable agencies, as well as individuals themselves. The response of all referral agencies must be flexible and fast to ensure the safety of individuals fleeing violence.Support will be provided flexibly and be responsive to service users support needs. Every service user should have an outcomes focused support plan which is subject to a regular review. The service will support individuals to access suitable move on accommodation when necessary.The service will follow guidelines included in the Supporting People Programme Grant Guidance issued in June 2013.To express your interest in this contract please email procurement@flintshire.gov.uk by 5pm Friday 21st February.
