The Welsh Government is committed to improving the life chances of children through early and targeted intervention. The Children, Young People and Families division sits within the Local Government and Communities Directorate and is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of family support policies across Wales.The overall aim of this contract is to provide Flying Start teams in each local authority in Wales with additional Book Bags to be distributed to every 2 year old in their Flying Start areas.The age appropriate Book Bags should include materials similar to the previous book bags (detailed above) but must include:•An English language book,•A Welsh language book•A set of crayons and•A scribble pad.The Welsh Government would be willing to consider other suitable resources proposed by bidders for the contract. The resources must contribute to the aims and objectives of the Early Language Development entitlement of Flying Start.
