Descriptions

In summary, the SFPA intends to enter a service contract with up to three service providers, with the required specialist expertise and knowledge, for the provision of Food Safety Regulation Training to help permit it to fulfil its obligations. The SFPA, through a service contract with the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI), is responsible for the enforcement of national and European legislation that deals with health conditions for the production and placing on the market of fish, shellfish and fisheries products.Sea-Fisheries Protection Officers (SFPOs) are employed by the SFPA to undertake official control work, including inspections, audits and sampling, on fishing vessels, in seafood factories and on shellfish production sites.European Official Control legislation (Regulation (EU) 2017/625) requires that SFPOs receive appropriate training enabling them to undertake their duties competently and to perform official controls and other official activities in a consistent manner. SFPOs must keep up-to-date in their area of competence and receive regular additional training as necessary. It is the intention of SFPA to develop a long term training plan to a high standard for all SFPOs and relevant support staff. The areas for potential training are summarized in Appendix 1 of the RFT with further details on requirements provided. This training will be in addition to in-house food safety training provided by SFPA’s Food and Fisheries Support Unit.Lot 1Food Safety Regulation - Certified TrainingLot 2Food Safety Regulation - SFPA Customised Classroom Training Lot 3Food Safety Regulation - Training with Facility Requirements
