Descriptions
The Food Standards Agency's existing contract for engagement within primary schools in Wales comes to an end in August 2014. The FSA wishes to continue with its school engagement programme over the coming years and has determined that its future programme will be targeted at some of Wales' most deprived communities. From September 2014, the FSA engagement programme will be targeted at Wales' 52 cluster areas as identified by Welsh Government Ministers in November 2012. The existing workshops are intended to deliver food safety messages as set out in the FSA's Food Competency Framework and the FSA's school activity core principles for the target age group. It would be for the successful contractor to put forward proposals either for the refocusing of the existing content, or for development of a new programme of content featuring the Agency's refocused remit, in Wales, for food safety. The current workshops are aimed at children aged 5-11 years and the programme includes an interactive drama. The FSA welcomes ideas on how to provide for the continued engagement with primary schools within Wales and is not bound by previous approaches it has taken. The following assumes continuity with previous activities but the FSA invites the submission of other ideas to engage with the target audience.
