Descriptions
This contract is for sample analysis from a radiological monitoring programme. Analysis will be of food and feed sampled from locations around nuclear sites and dairies away from nuclear sites across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. In addition, analysis of samples may be required from other locations in the British Isles which would either be agreed through ad hoc arrangements within this contract or by separate contract extensions where appropriate. The analytical contractor will be expected to liaise with the sample collection contractor to ensure that sufficient and relevant samples are provided to carry out the analyses. When situations arise where the sample quantity cannot reach the required mass, then the analytical contractor will need to notify the FSA's policy adviser/project manager with a suggestion as to which analysis is to be carried out. The FSA's policy adviser/project manager will confirm what action is to be taken.
