For The Provision of advice in respect Landscape Sensitivity & Landscape Visual Impact Assessment
Descriptions
Derbyshire Dales District Council, is the local planning authority for that part of its area that sits outside of the Peak District National Park. In July 2014 the Derbyshire Dales Local Plan Pre Submission Draft was subject to Examination in Public. The Inspector concluded in his report that the Objectively Assessed Need for Housing for the whole of Derbyshire Dales for the period 2006-2028 should be at least 6,500 dwellings. Having considered the options available to it the District Council on 2nd October 2014 resolved to withdraw the Derbyshire Dales Local Plan Pre Submission Draft from the Examination in Public. Initial work has now commenced on a review of the evidence base to support the preparation of the Derbyshire Dales Local Plan. As part of that review the District Council would like to commission appropriately qualified and experienced consultants to undertake the following key activities to support the preparation of the Derbyshire Dales Local Plan: •A strategic landscape sensitivity analysis of the areas in and around selected settlements across the local planning authority area •Site Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA) of sites across the local planning authority area that have been identified as being available for development in the Derbyshire Dales Local Plan. This brief sets out the requirements for the work and will allow contractors who are experienced and interested in carrying out this work to provide a robust submission.
