Derby City Council wishes to appoint a suitably experienced and qualified energy consultant to provide services as part of the D2 Energy Efficiency (D2EE) project. D2EE is a comprehensive low-carbon support and energy efficiency grants programme for small and medium sized businesses across Derby and Derbyshire. D2EE will reduce the carbon emissions of business activities, products and processes by providing energy efficiency audits and grants (up to £15,000, Derby and Derbyshire only), alongside access to state-of-the-art equipment and cutting edge technical expertise to foster improvement and innovation. It is a three year partnership project between Derby City Council, Derbyshire County Council and the University of Derby supporting business across the Region. Derby City Council shares the delivery of the D2EE Audits and Grants stream of the project with Derbyshire County Council. As part of this support, the Councils are seeking a consultant to provide technical energy efficiency consultancy services, including the completion of energy surveys and energy efficiency improvement recommendations for SMEs engaged in the D2EE project, and to support the D2EE Project Team. The project is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020 any award is subject to ERDF Funding approval. The initial contract period is approximately four months; the contract is estimated to commence 20th November 2017 and expire 31st March 2018. There will be an option to extend the contract for a further 19 months in 2 six-monthly and a final 7 monthly increment subject to satisfactory performance and business needs.
