Forestry England’s (FE) North Forest District is looking to engage suitably qualified, capable and experienced service providers to carry out grip/ditch blocking and peat re-profiling services as part of peatland habitat restoration on the Border Mires. Grip blocking/re-profiling is to be carried out using peat plus or peat from the site., Creation of natural blockages (peat plugs) using a suitable excavator along marked drains and ditches for mire restoration. Blocking the ditch to raise the hydrology of the mire.
