The Welsh Government’s Programme for Government includes a commitment to introduce “…a programme of annual health checks, led by GPs, practice nurses, pharmacists and other health professionals, for everyone over the age of 50.” Activity up to 2013 is focused on preparatory work, with implementation to be phased in, commencing with selected Communities First clusters from October 2013, wider opportunistic online access from December 2013, and letters of invitation for those reaching 50 from April 2014 with continuing service development thereafter.The aim of this contract is to undertake the formative evaluation of the introduction of the Health and Wellbeing Check for Over 50s Programme and develop a proposal for external research funding for the impact and economic evaluation.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
