The PSU units within forces train, and when required, deploy officers to potential and actual incidents of serious public disorder. In order for these officers to perform these duties effectively they are equipped with personal protective equipment which includes riot shields.The Police Support Units have a requirement for the supply, maintenance and recycling of riot shields. The shields are to be used for both training and operational purposes, and they must be able to survive extreme forms of attack which could include thrown missiles, edged weapons and petrol bombs.Bidders will be required to provide All shield types listed in the URD and must be able to not only provide, but maintain and securely recycle them.This procurement is being undertaken to conclude a framework agreement between the Chief Constable for Devon and Cornwall, and the successful Bidder under which the police services listed below may choose to purchase a synonymous solution.List of Police Forces: http://www.police.uk/?view=force_sites#force_sitesFor clarity, potential bidders are asked to note that this agreement will be awarded to a Single provider Only. Therefore, for your bid submission to be considered you Must be able to provide all items and requirements detailed within the URD tab of the Statement of Requirements Document. If you cannot provide all items within the contract your bid will Not be considered further as it is intended that it will be awarded to the single overall most economically advantageous bid.
