London & Birmingham Railway Limited t/a London Midland are seeking to contract with several operators for a framework agreement for the provision of works for the renewal, replacement or installation M&E, painting and civil building works to conform to the relevant standards (standards refers to British, European, International, Network Rail www.uk.ihs.com and Railway group standards www.rgsonline.co.uk;) for, depots or administration buildings, including any associated telecommunications and building attendance works. All materials used are to comply with current British Standards, have a declaration of conformity and CE Markings The installation will need to meet any requirements requested by Network Rail as part of the Landlords Consent process, BAPA (Basic Asset protection Agreement) or APA (Asset Protection Agreement) as applicable. Works will include both large scale and reactive elements.Potential bidders are advised that London Midland's franchise currently expires on 1:59 1.4.2016. In the event that London Midland is successfully awarded a Direct Award Contract (DAC) by the Department for Transport (DfT), any contracts awarded as a result of this tender will be automatically extended to 15.10.2017. There is a potential extension of up to 13 railway periods to October 2018 contingent upon London Midland being awarded an extension to the DAC. In the event that London Midland is not successful with the DAC all contracts will automatically cease to exist.Potential bidders are advised that being awarded a contract on the framework does not automatically guarantee work.
