Scottish Enterprise (SE) has awarded a Framework Agreement of four suppliers to provide an executive search and recruitment-service. The purpose of this Framework is to seek individuals with the right calibre to join the management teams of high growth companies being supported by SE.The SE approach to commercialisation of innovative technologies has evolved to focus on the creation of High Growth Companies of Scale (CoS). CoS is defined as 5 000 000 GBP increase in turnover or 10 000 000 GBP investment, 5 years after interventions provided. The founders of companies with such potential often come from the perspective of a new technology seeking a market. It is well documented that better high growth opportunities are developed with the market need and customer engagement embedded from the outset. Therefore we seek to ensure that world class science in Scotland is matched by world class management with specific experience in growing companies of scale.In order to achieve this we need to find world class experienced individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset and, whilst existing approaches will still be used (networks, advertising, etc). This Framework of suppliers will use their skills and networks to source individuals with capabilities targeted to our specific commercial opportunities.
