Framework for the Provision of Public Analyst & Other Analytical Services

Pembrokeshire County Council are acting as the lead authority in terms of this framework arrangement on behalf of the Welsh Purchasing Consortium (WPC). The Framework Agreement will enable the sixteen Local Authorities, together with any other specified Employers to appoint an analyst under the terms of this agreement. The scoping exercise used to gauge the level of interest amongst WPC members resulted in nine Authorities stating that they were ‘interested’ in participating in this framework. These were Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Ceredigion, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Swansea & Vale of Glamorgan. Of the remaining seven Authorities, one stated that they were not interested in participating and six did not respond. Please note though that this is a Framework agreement with no guarantee of business.The Framework will be awarded in three separate lots with one provider per lot. The Framework will run from 1st January 2012 to 31st December 2014 with a possible extension for a further 24 months at 12 month intervals. This procurement exercise will be conducted electronically using the Value Wales e-tendering portal. The Framework requires the appointment of a Public Analyst to undertake a range of chemical testing of Food, Agriculture and Water samples and must possess the qualifications listed in this notice.
