The Council is required through a ‘sufficiency duty’ to secure sufficient accommodation forchildren and young people under their care who cannot live at home.Children’s Services has developed a specification for semi-independent living to improve thesufficiency of high-quality supported housing in Dorset through block contracting. The aim iso provide young people with security and stability for as long as it is needed, as well as tooffer support and accommodation that enables care leavers and vulnerable young people tofeel safe and develop independent living skills. There will be a range of level of support tomeet a variety of requirements of young people, including those with more complex needs.
