Wrexham County Borough Council invites tenders in relation to Section 46 of the Public Health (Control of Diseases) Act 1984, places a statutory duty on local authorities to make arrangements for funerals for those people who die or are found dead within the Authority’s administrative area, where no other suitable arrangements have been or are being made. Examples of where the local authority would be expected to make the funeral arrangements are:-A. Where the deceased has no estate, no known relatives, executor, close friends or anybody willing to take responsibility for the funeral arrangements;B. Where the deceased has an estate, but no relatives, executor, close friends or anybody else willing to take responsibility for the funeral arrangements;C. Where the deceased has relatives, but they refuse to take on responsibility for the funeral arrangements.
