Roofing works to Gallery within Castell Coch a scheduled ancient monument.Proposed works as follows -• Careful removal of existing roofing slates, stored for reuse. All damaged or broken slates to be replaced. New timber battens and fixing dowels throughout. Roof area approx 150m2 .• Careful removal of existing ridge tiles, stored on site as directed. New replacement ridge tiles to entire roof length. Cadw to procure replacement ridge tiles from specialist supplier.• Repair and/or replacement of damaged main supporting roof timbers.• Repair and/or replacement of failed leadwork valley guttering, flashings, etc.Note : Access & covered working scaffolding has been designed by specialist engineer and will be erected and in place prior to the commencement of the contract. Cadw to procure scaffolding erection.ImportantContractors wishing to be included on the tender list for this contract must submit previous evidence of at least two roofing projects that have taken place at a scheduled ancient monument and/or historic listed building site. Contractors must also submit evidence of having previously fulfilled the role of Principal Contractor as defined CDM Regulations 2007. Contractors failing to provide the above evidence will not be invited to tender.Pre Qualification Questionnaires (PPQ) must be completed thoroughly.Any additional supporting information to be a maximum of 4 sides of A4.The awarding Authority reserves the right to request parent company and/or other guarantees of performance and financial liabilityPayment terms will be indicated in the contract documents. Tenders to be priced in Sterling. Payment made in Sterling only.No special legal form required but joint and several liability assumed by all group bidders before acceptance.
