Descriptions

This is an updated advert. Please see Paragraph 3 for the amended wording and please note the new deadline.A partnership of Conwy County Borough Council, Gwynedd Council, Snowdonia National Park and The National Trust, working in conjunction with other heritage bodies in North West Wales, has been formed to deliver a regional approach to the development and promotion of North West Wales’ unique heritage, in response to tourism and heritage strategies for the region.Cadw has been successful with a bid for a pan-Wales £19 million Heritage Tourism project. Conwy County Borough Council, in partnership with Gwynedd Council, Snowdonia National Park and the National Trust, has won a tender for funding under this initiative for the Castles and Princes (Princes of Gwynedd) theme. Conwy County Borough Council acting as the client for the partnership wishes to appoint a suitably qualified designer to produce an interpretive plan, research, script, design and implementcreative gateway / hub exhibitions based on the Princes of Gwynedd story in four locations: a large exhibition at Conwy and 3 smaller hubs at Caernarfon, Betws y Coed and Criccieth; web content including for digital downloads, apps and interpretive leaflets. The project will provide an integrated approach to the provision of interpretation across Gwynedd and Conwy including the Snowdonia National Park to reveal and enhance the story of the Princes of Gwynedd and encourage exploration of the cultural landscape. The focus and actions are based on recommendations of an overarching strategy completed in October 2010, which identifies clusters of sites in localised areas, grouped around key gateways providing links to other visitor attractions and thus added value in terms of economic and social benefits. If funding becomes available, the gateways will also be used to interpret other historic themes delivered by the partnership.
