The Council is inviting final Tenders for the delivery of the 2015 to 2019 (inclusive) Statute Fairs in Burton upon Trent (and, subject to Clause 3 of the Contract, the 2020 to 2024 (inclusive) Statute Fairs). The Burton upon Trent Statutes Fair has been running in some shape or form for many centuries. It takes place in the autumn of each year on the first Monday and Tuesday after Michelmas – usually starting on the first Monday in October. Over the years it has changed from a primarily hiring fair, where labourers were hired for the coming year, to the amusement fair that takes place today.
