GB-Leicester: Independent Advocacy Service for People with Mental Health Issues Targeting the African, African Caribbean & Asian Communities

The Council is seeking a provider of Independent Advocacy Support who can meet the specific needs of those with Mental Health issues from within the African, African Caribbean and Asian communities in order to ensure customers are supported by workers with the relevant skills and experience whilst at the same time, supporting the Council to understand the impact of the Care Act in relation to advocacy provision for this group. The proposed Contract will be for seven months with an option to extend for a further period of 5 months and it is anticipated to award to a single Contractor. The delivery of an Independent Advocacy Service to adults (aged 18+) and older people, plus young people in transition (people preparing for adulthood) resident in Leicester City who are vulnerable, disabled or have complex needs and who receive, are being assessed for, or are entitled to receive services from the Council’s Adult Social Care department. The service will be provided to eligible adults who advocacy need support to enable them to be heard, to secure their rights and get services they need.
