General Advocacy Service for Gwynedd and Anglesey

Gwynedd and Anglesey Council are in the process of commissioning an Independent Advocacy Service for all adults groups in order to meet their statutory obligations under the new Social Care Act (Wales 2014). This will ensure the availability of confidential and independent advocacy for vulnerable adults in Gwynedd and Anglesey. The Independent Advocacy Service will provide a range of advocacy services to adults. It will be expected that the Advocacy Service will be delivered across the whole geographical area of Gwynedd and Anglesey in such a way as to meet the individual needs of the person requiring the Service.The successful Provider, under the same contract, will be expected to provide the service of a Responsible Persons Representative when assessing an individual under the mental capacity act for deprivation of liberty.
