General Building Works Framework Agreement

Cardiff Metropolitan University is seeking to establish a Framework Agreement for the provision of planned and reactive general building works within it’s premises. We anticipate this Framework to commence in November 2024.It is the University’s intention to appoint up to three contractors to the Framework, however we reserve the right to appoint a number greater or lower than this, subject to the nature of the responses received.Primarily, the agreement will comprise of planned and reactive internal and external building works, with additional minor works to University owned properties in accordance with instructions issued by the University.The following list is indicative of the type of work that will be undertaken as part of the Framework Agreement. The list is not exhaustive, and the University may request work that would be deemed general building works but not listed below:• General building works.• General brick and block work repairs to structures including temporary shoring, rebuilding, and repointing.• Paving repairs to brick sets, paving slabs, curbs, steps, and ramps• Concrete repairs• Subfloor repairs• Plaster boarding, dry lining, plastering, Stud partitioning.• Minor building works/alterations/ Minor demolition works.• Roof repairs to both pitched and flat roofs.• Minor window replacement, maintenance, and refurbishment (wooden, UPVC, or metal).• Glazing work to both single and double-glazed windows including temporary boarding up as necessary• Drainage work including clearing blockages, surveys, repairs, and replacement.• Domestic plumbing work• Internal and external minor decoration.• New suspended ceiling installations and minor repairs to ceilings.• Carpentry work including: Door sets (including ironmongery) Fire door repair and replacement, door closures renewal and repair.• Fire stopping.• Cleaning and site clearance.• Out-of-hours temporary works including:Emergency works within normal working hours and outside the university's operating hours to include Boarding up windows/doors and making safe. to include restoration of essential services, unblocking drains, and making safe, secure, and watertight.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=143585.Under the terms of this Framework Agreement the successful contractor(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the University’s economic and social objectives.Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations.The Community Benefits included in this contract are: non-core.Contractors are required to propose community benefit actions as part of their tender submission and reporting on this will form part of the contract management process with the successful Contractor.(WA Ref:143585)
