This work mapped a range of ecosystem services at both the national and local authority scale. It identified areas where improving ecosystem services was likely to have the largest impact and also looked at key natural resources that are impossible to replace in the short to medium term. This contract will specifically focus on developing an information resource that can be used by NRW to inform development of Area Statements under the Welsh Environment Act 2016. It is intended that the outputs will be applicable at a strategic as well as a local level and will explore current, live issues around pressures, opportunities and implications for resilience and wellbeing in order to inform the contents of the Area Statements. To ensure the outputs of this project are fit for this purpose, the successful consultant will be expected to work closely with Natural Resources Wales and use information being gathered for the Area Statements. It will be essential that the resulting information resource is both easy to access and to interpret and any outputs are to be designed with this in mind from the outset.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
