NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has a requirement to purchase a number of transcutaneous Bilirubinometers for non-invasive measurement of neonatal jaundice.The device must be able to make accurate assessments which are not affected by skin pigmentation or variations in patient factors including serum haematocrit.It should not require single use disposables to minimise the cost of testing.The device should be portable and be provided with internal rechargeable battery and charging stations where applicable and carry pouches to protect the device whilst on the move.There should be the ability or potential to download to a Clinical Information System.Values should be stored in the machine and linked to the CHI (Community Health Index) number and/or other Clinical Information System.
