Gritting Service

North Wales Police are looking for a supplier to enter into a contract for the provision of a gritting service across their sites detailed in this specification. A proactive approach to the service is necessary. During periods of extreme cold and ice forming or heavy snowfall using data on road temperature with a trigger level below 0°c with a risk of severe icing to trigger level C3 (Metra Weather Scale or a similar meteorological organization) we require a service whereby the contractor grits the private roadways and ramps leading to our police premises and drive/road ways leading to premises entrances/exits and in car parks by either vehicle or mechanical driven gritting equipment or manual application of grit.Once the trigger level is anticipated by data pulled from a recognized weather meteorological office the contractor will email their plans to a scheduled visit and gritting of named sites.
