Gritting Service

North Wales Police are looking for a supplier to enter into a contract for the provision of a gritting service across their sites detailed in this specification. A proactive approach to the service is necessary. During periods of extreme cold and ice forming or heavy snowfall using data on road temperature with a trigger level below 0°c with a risk of severe icing to trigger level C3 (Metra Weather Scale or a similar meteorological organization) we require a service whereby the contractor grits the private roadways and ramps leading to our police premises and drive/road ways leading to premises entrances/exits and in car parks by either vehicle or mechanical driven gritting equipment or manual application of grit.Once the trigger level is anticipated by data pulled from a recognized weather meteorological office the contractor will email their plans to a scheduled visit and gritting of named sites. Note that North Wales Police will have the option to cancel any scheduled visit weekdays but will agree to allow entrance to locations on a Saturday or Sunday morning as access to emails will be limited out of normal office hours.
