Flying Start is the Welsh Government targeted Early Years programme for families with children under 4 years of age in some of the most disadvantaged areas of Wales.The core elements of the programme are drawn from a range of options that have been shown to influence positive outcomes for children and their families. These include:•Free quality, part-time childcare for 2-3 year olds;•An enhanced Health Visiting service;•Access to Parenting Support•Early Language DevelopmentGwynedd Flying Start are looking for service providers to deliver parenting and family support to Flying Start families who live within Flying Start postcode designated areas (South Dolgellau and Blaenau Ffestiniog)The core purpose of parenting support is about working with parents to reduce risks; strengthen parenting capacity; develop and build resilience and sustain positive change.Keeping a strong focus on positive outcomes intended for children and reflecting their rights, support for mothers, fathers and carers should be provided that will:•enhance positive parenting skills to manage behaviour more effectively and promote children's social skills, self-esteem and self-discipline;•improve parent-child relationships and parent-parent relationships;•develop positive attitudes and aspiration;•strengthen parents' understanding of child development and foster their ability to be more responsive to the needs of their children to promote their social, emotional and cognitive development and well-being;•increase parents' confidence in their parenting role; and•increase parents' confidence and skills in providing a positive home learning environment and supporting their child with their learning.The Service should offer parenting support at a 1: 1 or in group interventions, (which is free for parents) by working closely with the multidisciplinary team and agencies within the Flying Start project such as the Betsi Cadwalder University Health Board.In addition to this, Gwynedd Flying Start is also seeking new childcare providers who are able to provide childcare to all eligible 2-3 year old children for 12.5 hours per week per child, living within a designated postcode area in the newly identified Flying Start areas (Talysarn, Llanllyfni & Clynnog and Dolgellau South ).Childcare, which is free to parents, will be offered to 2 year olds from the term after their second birthday to the term in which they turn 3 years old.The procurement consists of 3 lots (areas) (minimum of 2 settings per Lot).Every setting to provide 2.5 hours of education and care for children from Monday to Friday, 12.5 hours a week, for 39 weeks a year. £11.50 will be paid per session towards the childcare and this should include staff costs, art and crafts equipment, admin materials and costs, cleaning and wastage costs, staff training (excludes Flying Start training), travelling and management costs.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at http://www.sell2wales.gov.uk/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=26554.
