Introduction:The Pirbright Institute (TPI) invites tenders for the instrument with description outlined below.As an essential component the fit out of the new high containment building (The BBSRC National Centre for Virology: The Plowright Building) at The Pirbright Institute (TPI) there is a requirement for 4 (four) double half-suit isolators and 2 (two) single half-suit isolators.The primary purpose of the isolators is to provide a suitable contained environment under negative pressure for handling and processing materials infected with pathogens specified as up to SAPO4/ACDP3.All surfaces and components should be sufficiently robust to withstand daily use and regular decontamination with vaporised hydrogen peroxide (VHP), formalin, Distel or similar decontaminant with no detriment to quality or performance. The use of mastic should be kept to the minimum and any mastic used should be resistant to formaldehyde.The bidder will ensure manufacture, supply, deliver, install, test and commission the isolators. Each isolator is to be supplied with a rapid transfer connection port, a minimum of 2 additional gloved sleeves access points and fully equipped with appropriate racking; all being fully compatible with existing systems within the (The BBSRC National Centre for Virology: The Plowright Building) and the isolator hall (FW19).
