The MHRA science labs located at the South Mimms site and the organisation have numerous floor standing Ultracentrifuges and high speed centrifuges from a single manufacturer across the site. The Ultracentrifuges are used flexibly for a range of laboratory techniques including the purification of viruses, or the extraction of viral/bacterial nucleic acid. Around half of the ultracentrifuges are used in high containment areas.Currently the various rotors used are compatible and interchangeable across the whole range of floor standing centrifuges from a single manufacturer. It is a requirement that if the Supplier will be proposing another manufacturer, that it ensures that there shall be minimal loss of service as and when new manufacturers centrifuges are installed.The restricted tender shall consist of 3 lots as described below.i)Supply, install and provide training for floor standing laboratory centrifuges from a single manufacturer, upto ultra performance speeds. ii)To provide manufacturers rotors and Beckman Coulter rotors (or compatible equivalents), that will be necessary to ensure MHRA can continue to operate efficiently.iii)Provide ongoing maintenance, calibration and certification services for MHRA’s fleet of floor standing centrifuges.Tenderers who have the capability are invited to Express their Interest in the first instance by registering and replying to this PIN.
