Nottingham City Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to deliver a highway weed control programme within the City of Nottingham.The Council currently provides maintenance in the form of a non-residual herbicide treatment to approximately 809 km of adopted highway. This work involves the spraying, by way of manual or mechanical means, an approved glyphosate weed killer under the Code of Practice for Using Plant Protection Products (2006) weed killer to keep the hard surfaces free of weed/grass growth.The contract will be for a period of 2 years, commencing in May 2014. There will be an option to extend for a further 12 months at the Council's sole discretion.
