The Council is responsible for the operation and management of the highway network in Cheshire West and Chester. The Council is intending to procure a Highways Delivery Partner that will work in partnership with the Council's own resources to deliver high quality, innovative highways and Place-based services to the residents and businesses of the Borough. The scope of the Highways Delivery Partner contract will include: •Planned maintenance of the highway network •Design and other professional services for highway and Place-based improvement schemes •The construction of highway and Place-based projects. The new contract is planned to start in October 2022, with an initial service period of 7.5 years, extendable by agreement to a maximum of 15.5 years. The Council is holding a Highways Delivery Partner Pre-Tender Briefing on Tuesday 9th November at 15:30 for potential suppliers (and consortia) that have the technical skills and experience to the deliver the whole service outlined in our tender. The Council does not intend to break the contract down further into lots. At the Pre-tender Briefing, the Council will set out its vision for the partnership, the scope of services, and timeline for the procurement of the Highways Delivery Partner. The Council encourages potential suppliers to submit questions in advance of the briefing so that the Council can address the questions during the briefing. Advance questions and queries can be sent to HighwaysProcurement@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk by [5pm on 6th November]. There will also be opportunity for participants to raise questions and discussion points during the Event.
