The Living Levels Partnership team is looking to contract a Historian to help deliver some of the key outputs and outcomes of the Living Levels 'Recapturing the Historic Landscape Project'.The records of the Monmouthshire Court of Sewers, the finest historical archive for the Gwent Levels, underpin this brief. Research outputs will be showcased at History Days, online and in printed publications, and inform other strands of the Recapturing the Historic Landscape Project including Geographic Information System (GIS), field surveys and archaeological investigations (N.B. the GIS and fieldwork elements are subject to a separate tender). They will also link to 'Stories from the Levels', and help with interpretative materials for the 'Gwent Levels Destination Management Plan'The initial recruitment of volunteers will be undertaken with the support of the Living Levels Partnership team but the overall supervision and management of the volunteers, including organising for any training, will be the responsibility of the successful contractor(s).
