The Welsh Assembly Government are undertaking a series of trials to provide a berthing facilities on the existing Anglesey Aluminium Metals (AAM) Jetty at the Port of Holyhead, Anglesey in support of the visit of cruise vessels to North Wales.To assist the berthing facilities the Welsh Assembly Government on behalf of the Welsh Ministers are seeking tenders from Specialist Fabrication Manufacture/Suppliers for the provision of a passenger gangway to be delivered to the Anglesey Aluminium (AAM) Jetty in the Port of Holyhead, Anglesey North Wales.The gangway shall be designed and fabricated to BS MA 78 with additional considerations from BS MA 89 where applicable. The gangway shall be fabricated from aluminium and shall incorporate self-levelling steps with an integral turntable at its head to cope with ship roll and movements both in the vertical and horizontal planes without the need to relocate the gangway fixing to the ship.The gangway shall also incorporate facilities for crew-assisted wheelchair access and multiple or flexible fixings to allow for attachment to different ship hatch / coaming details. The gangway shall be capable of being stored on the Jetty under an overhead conveyor belt when not in use.The gangway shall be supplied with a 12 month warranty including an allowance for a site inspection, maintenance and defect remedy before the cruise season begins in 2011.The Welsh Assembly Government, on behalf of the Welsh Ministers, will be conducting this procurement exercise through the etenderwales portal https://etenderwales.bravosolution.co.uk.
