Housebound Anticoagulation Service
Descriptions
This is a call for competition. NHS Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are re-commissioning their housebound anticoagulation service. The Commissioner wishes to receive responses to the Invitation to Tender (ITT) from suitably qualified and experienced Providers with the necessary capacity and capability (or a demonstrable ability to provide the necessary capacity and capability) to provide the range of services required. The Provider must ensure services are appropriate to local needs, access and convenience are important aspects of a patient-centred service, but it is also vital that the services are appropriate and responsive to the needs of the local population. The Provider must have the required legal status to deliver this service in the community using nursing and / or appropriate clinical staff; have the knowledge, training and skills to initiate, dose and monitor anticoagulation therapy for housebound patients and ensure timely and high-quality care. The contract length will be 26 months with an option to extend for up to 12 months subject to satisfactory review. The contract is due to commence on 1st February 2019 with the possibility of up to 2.5 WTE Band 6 nursing staff being able to TUPE into the new service on NHS terms and conditions. The maximum cost envelope for this service is £180,000 per annum which cannot be exceeded for approximately 260 housebound patients over the age of 18 years registered with GP practices in Leicester City CCG. The ITT will be live on the 18th September 2018 on M&L CSU Bravo portal (see below) and it will have a deadline for submissions of 10:30am on the 8th October 2018. Clarifications may be asked during the procurement process up to a week before the ITT deadline, i.e. the deadline for submitting clarification questions on the tender is 12:00 noon 4th October 2018.
