City of Wolverhampton Council (CWC) has a requirement for a contractor to deliver affordable housing within the city. This award of the contract is for the construction of twenty four properties comprising of four number 1 bedroom bungalows, five number 2 bedroom bungalows, five number 2 bedroom houses, six number 4 bedroom houses and two number 5 bedroom houses, two number 2 bedroom flats along with associated infrastructure. The cost incorporates the enhanced CWC new build specification, which includes Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), including timber frame construction, photovoltaic panels with battery storage, sprinkler/mist systems, radiant heating system with intelligent water cylinders, target EPC rating A. The majority of the plots are Category M4 (3) Wheelchair user dwellings and are larger than the National Described Space Standards. Eleven of the properties are also detached. The procedure will be a framework direct award, utilising Lot 2 of DMBC's Housing Development Framework, in accordance with the Public Contract Regulations 2015 and the Council's Contract Procedure Rules.
