The Health Research Board (HRB) is a state agency that supports research and provides evidence to prevent illness, improve health and transform patient care. The HRB has 65 staff. Our annual budget is in excess of €45m and we manage a research investment portfolio of approximately €200m. The agency is funded mainly by the Department of Health, and Board members are appointed by the Minister for Health.The HRB has core applications that store and process data including national health information systems, a grants electronic management system, websites and corporate financial and human resources applications. It also has a significant amount of data in unstructured systems such as Microsoft word, excel and email. In line with requirements stemming from the GDPR, the HRB is seeking to further improve its electronic data retention/deletion compliance at a policy, procedure and technology level.RequirementsThe HRB requires a consultant to develop and document an implementation plan for effective electronic data retention / deletion processes for the HRB.The report from the consultant should include:Section 1: An assessment of the current situation, issues, and opportunities for HRB data retention/deletion within the HRB.Section 2: A data taxonomy that will allow data elements to be bundled into manageable groupings to support technical implementation and ongoing compliance with best practice electronic retention / deletion.Section 3: Recommendations on the optimization of the use of the HRB’s applications (including SharePoint On-line, LINK, GEMS, Aggresso – Business World, People HR) for electronic data retention.Section 4: Advice on information management and electronic data retention/deletion approaches that are open to the HRB and the relative benefit of each approach and available technology to support each approach.Section 5: Detailed project plan, including estimated resource requirements, to implement the recommended electronic data retention/deleti
