Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council (BGCBC) is currently using the IBM Tivoli product suite to underpin its backup environment for both corporate and academic clients. This environment has served the council well over the last ten years but several factors have led to the conclusion that the environment should be updated including:·Strategic move to windows servers running on VMware architecture;·High levels of data duplication, particularly on the academic environment;·Use of network attached storage to host file servers;·Existing infrastructure is difficult and costly to support.
