The Trust wishes to appoint a new external supplier for the provision of ICT Infrastructure Services to the Trust ("ICT Infrastructure Service") to support approximately 3,950 whole time equivalents (of which 350 are bank/agency staff) across 3 main sites, with 1 satellite site.This ICT Infrastructure Service includes the transition to and provision of services, such as:— Service Desk Services;— Service Management, including Capacity, Availability, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Security to agreed service levels;— Data Networks;— Data management including, but not limited to, storage, back up, restore and archive;— Information management;— Desktops, Laptops and other end user devices;— Fully integrated Unified Communications (e.g. LAN, WAN & mobile connectivity);— Infrastructure;— Videoconferencing;— Fixed and mobile telephony;— Printing services;— Application Hosting;— Transition and implementation services.The Bidder will be aware of the continuing changes that are occurring both in technology, and within the NHS at large. The Bidder must be able to flex its service arrangements to take into account these changes in technology and organisational structure that will inevitably occur during the five-year life of the contract. With this in mind, the Bidder shall be required to demonstrate they are capable of increasing the service provision to additional users by a factor of up to x 2 over the life of the contract.The Trust is also looking for a Service Provider who has the ability to introduce innovation in the use of technology and associated processes across the Trust with a focus on continuous improvement. This concept of innovation should equally apply to the financial aspects of the contract arising from the procurement.The Trust may wish to extend, during the term of the contract, the ICT Infrastructure Services to cover potential clinical or information systems, business applications, integration and portals and digital service user engagement, such as teleheath. The services may be extended under this contract either during the procurement process itself, or during the term of the contract under change control procedures.
