Defence General Munitions has a possible future requirement for the supply of a "white-light" illuminating projectile in support of the 105mm UK MoD Artillery Platform. There may also be a requirement in the longer term for an "infra-red" illuminating projectile. Requirements are likely to be circa 3000 units per year with delivery commencing 2014 for a 3 year contract with 2 option years. years2. Suppliers should submit a detailed document listing experience and knowledge of the specific subject matter together with your ISO accreditation certificate. 3. Typical competencies required will be: UK MoD Artillery Projectile Design and Qualification. UK MoD Artillery Projectile, Charge, Fuze and Platform integration. Artillery Ballistics. System Safety. UK MoD Policy.4. Suppliers should note that the Authority will only consider a nationally qualified projectile which is entirely compatible wit the current 105mm ammunition suite and the L118 Artillery Field Gun. Suppliers will need to demonstrate compliance with the AOP15 for this natureand relevant UK and NATO standards. IM compliance in accordance with STANAG 4439 is desirable.5. Basic performance criteria are:Can be fired with both L35 and L35 UK charges.Can utilise the L163 Medium Infusion Fuze. (NATO Fuze Profiles as specified in STANAG 2916)Parachute rate of descent to be no greater than 5 ms-1.Illumination time not less than 35 seconds.6. Suppliers expressing interest in the possible future purchase may be down-selected based upon technical suitability of the product in the form of a PQQ7.
