The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board who sought an Impact of Population Growth assessment to develop a clear understanding of the drivers of the underlying financial deficit of the UHB – in particular the extent to which population growth, compounded by demographic shifts have placed demand burdens on the UHB. The awarded bidder will be requested to produce a report within specified timescales which addresses actions that the Health Board could undertake whilst recognising the restrictions of service model constraints as well as the timetable of improvement that will impact the pace at which improvements can be made along with health inequalities.
