Independent Third Party Inspection - WP1640

Requirement for an independent company to carry out third party inspection on structural elements of precast concrete such as repairs to concrete, embedded items, assessment of cracking and testing on elements such as concrete sampling and testing, concrete repairs, cover surveys on completed works. Company will be required to signed our check sheets, maintain their own log, close out comments, etc. Company must be ISO9001 and UKAS accredited or equivalent. Company must be able to demonstrate competency of staff. Requirement will probably be for 1 person on site plus support from company for administration, project management as required. Scope covers approximately 300 pours and will start in January 2022 running for 18 - 24 months. We will carry out a subcontract-specific prequalification on companies that have submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI). This prequalification constitutes typically around 10-15 questions specifically about an applicant's relevant to the project and their previous experience. A shortlist will be drawn up from the evaluation of the prequalification responses. Those companies that are invited to tender will receive an enquiry using a set of questions and weightings based around the specific scope of work, but will also reflect the understanding of the Strategic Goals and Objectives of HS2 (Equality Diversity & Inclusivity (EDI), Skills, Education and Employment (SEE), Environmental, Community etc). : The Invitation to Tender contains specific questions about how the tenderer will deliver the particular piece of work being procured (e.g. programme, cost, methodology, resources, etc). Any successful bidder will also complete the Laing O'Rourke registration process by providing financial details, company data, quality and other accreditation details, etc. The Expanded Group, part of the Laing O'Rourke Group, provides a total capability in the early construction phases of major projects backed by a central technical design and engineering resource to deliver programmes for numerous market-leading developments with two main specialist areas - structures and geotechnical,. Expanded is the appointed Subcontractor by BBVS for the HS2 Old Oak Common Station Box. Work on the project has already commenced in August 2021 with the first activity being Stamford Brook Sever Diversion (SBSD) with final handover in 2026. The scope of the Subcontract Works comprises the provision of all necessary people, Equipment, Plant and Materials for the construction of the HS2 Station Box: FRC civil and Excavation works, including all temporary works and their design, which are required for the safe execution of the Subcontract Works. The project is part of the regeneration of a brand-new neighbourhood in a 'neglected' part of West London. Old Oak Common will be a is a super-hub station with a total of 14 platforms including 6 high speed platforms underground and 8 at ground level connecting to conventional rail lines and Crossrail and is estimated it will serve 250,000 passengers per day.
