Information Session: North Northamptonshire Council Tier 2 Weight Management Provider Framework

North Northamptonshire Council will be running a Provider Information Session, hosted on Microsoft Teams, for providers interested in applying to deliver local Tier 2 Weight Management Services in North Northamptonshire. The session will take place on Friday 17th January at 10.30am for a maximum of 2 hours. For the link/invite to the session, please email holly.koenig@northnorthants.gov.uk The session will cover: - Registration and use of the In-Tend portal for submitting a tender response - An overview of the service specification and requirements for service providers North Northamptonshire Council seek to commission a framework of service providers to deliver an accessible Adults Tier 2 Weight Management service for residents of North Northamptonshire. This will support adults with obesity to achieve a healthier lifestyle through nutrition and physical activity, and an improved understanding of how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The framework will run for a period of two years, between 1st April 2025 and 31st March 2027. The framework will consist of two lots: - LOT 1: Award one provider to deliver a rolling 12-week programme for residents across the whole North Northamptonshire, running for an un-interrupted 2-year period. - LOT 2: Using a ranked, rotational process, the Council will direct award providers based on service need and provider capacity to meet the needs of priority groups in North Northamptonshire. North Northamptonshire Council will appoint multiple providers to the framework, and tender submissions with be evaluated based on the quality of the response. The Adult Tier 2 Weight Management service will provide structured 12-week support programmes for residents of North Northamptonshire who have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of: - 30 kg/m²+ (for white ethnic groups) - 27.5 kg/m²+ (for all other ethnic groups combined) The service is designed to help individuals adopt healthier eating and physical activity habits to achieve sustainable weight loss. Providers will be responsible for the following: - Programme Delivery (Structured 12-week programmes consisting of in-person, digital, or hybrid sessions), which must include: - Nutritional education and healthy eating guidance. - Physical activity promotion and advice. - Behaviour change support to encourage long-term healthy habits. - Peer support and group-based activities, where appropriate. - Personalised Support: Providers must tailor their approach to the needs of individual participants, recognising that personal circumstances such as physical limitations, cultural preferences, and socioeconomic factors may influence participants' ability to engage with the programme. Referral Management: Providers will manage referrals based on clear eligibility criteria.
