Installation of ‘Fast’ Electric Car Charging Facilities (Concession Contract)
Descriptions
Carmarthenshire County Council (the Council) have secured funding via the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) Grants scheme and the Welsh Government Local Transport Fund (WG LTF) to provide 100% of the capital funding for residential on-street chargepoints (for plug-in electric vehicles) and associated infrastructure. The OLEV scheme is primarily focused on the installation of chargepoints in on-street locations. However, OLEV have recognised the potential pressures that may be faced by Local Authorities when allocating parking spaces for electric vehicles on residential streets. Therefore, OLEV is willing to consider applications for chargepoints situated in car parks owned by the Local Authority. For this project the Council have therefore selected 14 LA owned car parks with close proximity to residential areas to comply with the requirements of the grant scheme. The remaining 12 sites will be funded solely by WG LTF.Although capital for the project will be 100% grant funded, Tenderers are expected to bid on a competitive basis to ensure that best value is obtained whilst still meeting the quality criteria within this specification.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
