INTEGRATED AND HOSTED NATIONAL DATA COLLECTION AND REPORTING SOLUTION FOR NEEDLE EXCHANGE SERVICES I

Public Health Wales Trust in conjunction with Welsh Assembly Government are seeking to develop and implement an integrated and hosted national data collection and reporting solution for needle exchange services in Wales. The solution must also provide facility for recording, monitoring and reporting on supervised consumption and naloxone distribution as well as automatic generation of invoice for payment purposes and stock control. The solution will need to be entirely web-based in terms of front end functionality and system administration with guaranteed availability, accessible via Microsoft Internet Explorer and other web enable mobile devices and be able to link with existing data solutions within Wales. The solution must be industry-proven and operational in other parts of the UK in order to work towards data standardisation. The solution must be written in Microsoft C# on the Microsoft .Net Platform and utilise the Microsoft SQL database. It is envisaged that this solution will be operational by May 2010 with personal user training provided within a minimum of 60 sites.
