Service to be Commissioned East and North Hertfordshire and Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Groups are commissioning an NHS Integrated Urgent Care Service for both CCGs and an Acute in Hours Visiting Service for East & North Hertfordshire CCG registered population only. The service to be procured is based on the Integrated Urgent Care Commissioning standards published in September 2015, to deliver to the public and healthcare professionals a single point of telephony access into urgent care, alongside their registered GP and affording the CCGs the ability to coordinate urgent care intervention through the NHS 111 service, the Multi-Speciality Clinical Advice Service (MCAS), and an Out of Hours telephony & appointment service. The service will deliver a clinically led, patient focused sustainable, high quality service with operational efficiency. Accessible to all patients, utilising telephony and digital technologies (multi-channel) to deliver the most clinically appropriate and value for money outcome, whilst managing demand that the service requires from other stakeholders including primary care, ambulance services, community services and emergency departments. The service will assess patients’ with their unplanned urgent care needs, working in partnership with the wider urgent care system across ambulance, primary, community, secondary, mental health, social and palliative care and the voluntary sector. Any successful Provider will ensure that all the service elements deliver high quality medical services that integrate fully with other providers to achieve an improved patient pathway, improved patient outcomes and patient experience. Bidders should be aware that the Integrated Urgent Care service for the Royston practices is being commissioned by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG. Contract Length Five (5) years with a potential two (2) year extension (Commissioner led extension) General information The Commissioners will be seeking clinically sound, innovative and value for money solution for the delivery of this requirement. The Commissioners will expect that the providers work closely with both CCGs and their constituent localities, System Resilience Groups and Vanguard schemes for their local population.
