Despite a number of recruitment campaigns the council has been unable to appoint to the vacant Development Manager position. In order to sustain the delivery of the service, provide continuity of staff and minimise technical difficulties and inconvenience it is necessary to retain the services of the interim Development Manager for a further period from 1 April 2025 to 30 June 2025 pending a permanent appointment being made. There will be an option to extend the contact to 31 December 2025 subject to budget approval . This is a situation which is being experienced in other local authorities regionally and nationally. The contract value is estimated on the full term including extension
