Interpreting the Legacy of Transatlantic Slavery in the National Heritage Collection

English Heritage is seeking one or more interpretation consultants to deliver two important public history projects which will help raise awareness of and interpret links between sites within the National Heritage Collection and transatlantic slavery. The consultant(s) will work alongside English Heritage staff, including Historians, Curators, Digital Content Editors and Site Managers as well as external designers to produce a series of interventions which help contextualise, communicate and reframe known connections between sites and transatlantic slavery. The appointed consultant(s) will be able to demonstrate experience in the public dissemination of Black history since 1500, and experience in creating interpretation within museums and heritage spaces. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience of interpreting difficult and sensitive subject matter in a museum or heritage context.
