INTRODUCING WET CLINICS IN BRISTOL FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE USING DRUGS AND ALCOHOL

Bristol City Council is seeing expressions of interest from providers to deliver a service to set up a service for additional wet clinics. This service will offer health outreach service for people who are difficult to reach. The Council wishes to test the level of market interest in this contract. The contract period will potentially be for 12 months with an option to extend for 2 x 12 months therefore a potential three years in total. The aim of the service is to reduce the impact of anti-social street drinking in Bristol and to reduce the impact on A&E. They will operate across 3 locations in Bristol to engage with service users, including those who are not in contact with mainstream Bristol City Council commissioned services. The Wet Clinics provide interventions to improve health and reduce the harms associated with drug and alcohol use will be delivered as well as supporting those furthest away from services to access treatment in a timely manner.
